Welcome, honey children!

Thanks for swinging by my cozy little corner of the internet! My name is Jessica Winter, I'm 20 years old...oh gosh I'm 20. Sorry, I haven't quite gotten used to it yet. Canada is my homeland but I hate the cold, I can make the most kick ass batch of mashed potatoes you've ever tasted, Harry Potter = life, I met the love of my life when I was 18 and got engaged when I was 19, I don't take my Christmas tree down until mid to late January, aaaaand nobody really cares about any of this shit, huh?

Anyways, I've decided to create this little blog in the name of beauty! I spent the majority of my life being told how ugly I am and how no one would ever love me unless I was skinny and I believed it...for a really long time, actually. And while I still have my days where I feel like an ugly duckling, I'm finally on my way to loving who I am right now, not for who I, or anyone else for that matter, wish I were. So this is kind of my way of helping myself with that process. I was never into makeup in my teenage years. Mascara was the extent of my knowledge, I never did my hair, and the first time I ever painted my nails was when I was 17. Which is sad as hell, I know.
But about 10 months ago, I started working at a department store, managing a jewelry counter. After a while, I moved on over to the makeup counters and began running one of those! Just keep in mind, at this point the only thing I'd ever done beauty wise issss...wash my hair, wash my face, and paint my nails. And that's it. So they put someone like that who knew absolutely nothing about blending eyeshadow or primers or eye creams in charge of a makeup counter. Hahaha that sounds like a recipe for disaster, but I actually learned a lot. It gave me a foundation of knowledge and a passion to learn more.
Lately though, I've been spending most of my days watching tutorials on Youtube and gaining inspiration from Tumblr and Pinterest and y'know, tweaking my craft.

Tumblr is my main social networking passion and I have a section on my main blog dedicated to beauty posts but I feel like I'd reach more people on here. So on this blog I'll be sharing reviews and swatches of different products, as well as step by step picture tutorials and things of that sort.
